ARB presents Tiolita brand sustainable Biochar coffee. Tiolita Coffee is Fair Trade and organic. Tiolita Coffee is smooth, strong and delicious. We partner with Angela del Pilar Barrero Bernal, the celebrated woman farmer in Colombia, who has used Biochar for over ten years to improve her coffee production and survive the long drought.

Tiolita Coffee comes from a farm high in the world’s renowned Colombian forests, and introduces the savory goodness of Biochar enhanced soil. Formulated Biochar provides drought-resistance. Its natural, carbon-sequestering soil amendment turns waste into valuable benefits for crops and the environment.

Biochar coffee refers to a coffee production process that incorporates the use of heated biomass to enhance sustainability and environmental benefits. Biochar is produced from organic materials through a process called pyrolysis. When used in agriculture or coffee cultivation, Biochar can offer various benefits such as improving soil fertility, carbon sequestration, and enhancing crop yield.

Here are some key points about sustainable Biochar coffee:

Soil Health: The use of Biochar in coffee production improves soil health by enhancing nutrient retention, increasing water-holding capacity, and promoting beneficial microbial activity. This leads to healthier coffee plants and improved crop yields.

Carbon Sequestration: Biochar is renowned for capturing and storing carbon from the atmosphere in the soil for the long term. By incorporating Biochar into coffee farming practices, farmers mitigate climate change damage by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting carbon storage in the soil.

Sustainability: Sustainable coffee production practices, including the use of Biochar, align with the principles of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability. Farmers, adopting the sustainability practice of using formulated Biochar, reduce their environmental impact, promote biodiversity, and support long-term productivity.

Quality and Flavor: Angela has been a longtime proponent of Biochar use in coffee production. Her experience developing soil improvements with formulated Biochar applications, led to improved coffee quality and flavor characteristics. Healthier soils contribute to the development of the robust taste of Tiolita Coffee.

Community Impact: Many positive benefits come from the implementation of sustainable Biochar farming methods. In addition to supporting smallholder farmers, and fostering a connection to the environment, these practices contribute to the well-being of both the environment and local communities.

Tiolita Coffee: Dark, Delicious and Delightful.
